A unique complex of three traditional Bulgarian mountain houses situated in a small picturesque village in the heart of the Rhodopy mountain. The complex is just 9 miles away from the ski resort of Pamporovo and is placed on the southern slope of one of the awesome ridges of Rojen summit. It benefits from the beauty of the old traditional Rhodopy architecture and customs and also from the unspoiled nature and magnificent scenery of the place. The surrounding ridges gently huddle up the three houses allowing only to Byala Reka river and its hurried waters to disturb the silence and the natural tranquility of the place. The houses were built in the 18th century during the so called Bulgarian National Revival of Learning and were recently renovated in the traditional Rhodopy style. Each house has a total living area of 500 sq.m. They are built entirely out of stone and wood but still their luxury impresses. There are many bedrooms in all three houses and almost each bedroom has its own stone fireplace. The interior makes no difference from the original outlook of the houses as all the furniture is genuine 18th and 19th century traditional Rhodopy style (renovated of course) including the gorgeous beds made out of wood and steel, the exquisite hand-made writing-desks and closets, the picturesque and colorful chests, etc. Those are the same chests that according to the traditions once were used by young girls to keep their trousseau for their wedding. Some of them were painted and decorated by famous icon-painters the same that have painted some of the old churches in the area. The biggest house of the three offers the biggest attraction in the complex. It has a basement which is cut into the cliff and houses a cozy tavern. All the furniture and cutlery in the tavern comprises of unique and ancient antiquarian items brought back to life after a careful aesthetic restoration. The spacious and beautifully terraced yard is as picturesque as the houses and full of trees, flowers and greenery which hide in their shadows seven authentic revival fountains and a beautiful summer kitchen with a large fireplace and a barbecue. There is also a large wine-cellar which only adds further perfection of the complex which was successfully used as an alternative tourism hotel for the past three years (following its renovation). Now we offer you the opportunity to finally have your own piece of heaven in the mountain paradise of the Rhodopy were you can have a well-deserved rest and welcome many guests and tourists from all over the world to enjoy this magical place with you. |
